Qualifications

Certificate II in Meat Processing (Abattoirs)
This can be used as an induction level qualification for people wishing to enter the meat processing industry. A trainee in this qualification learns a variety of skills and tasks in many aspects of meat processing.

Certificate III in Meat Processing (Boning)
This qualification can be undertaken by Certificate II trainees wishing to progress to a trade level. At this level a trainee will learn boning or slicing techniques or parts of both. This qualification is trade equivalent, e.g. same level as a trade butcher.

Certificate III in Meat Processing (Slaughtering)
This qualification can be undertaken by Certificate II trainees wishing to progress to a trade level. At this level a trainee will learn slaughtering techniques. This qualification is trade equivalent, e.g. same level as a trade butcher.

Certificate III in Meat Processing (General)
This qualification can be undertaken by Certificate II trainees wishing to progress to a trade level. At this level a trainee will learn a variety of skills and knowledge for various roles in the meat industry. This qualification is trade equivalent, e.g. same level as a trade butcher or baker.

Certificate III in Meat Processing (General)
This qualification can be undertaken by Certificate II trainees wishing to progress to a trade level. At this level a trainee will learn a variety of skills and knowledge for various roles in the meat industry. This qualification is trade equivalent, e.g. same level as a trade butcher or baker.

Certificate IV in Meat Processing (Quality Assurance)
This qualification is classed as post trade. The qualification can be undertaken by quality control officers, quality assurance managers and supervisors. It is an ideal qualification for people entering a quality/ technical role.

Certificate IV in Meat Processing (Leadership)
This qualification is classed as post trade. This qualification can be undertaken by team leaders and supervisors. It is an ideal qualification for people entering middle management or a quality/ technical role.

Best Practice Training in the Meat Industry

The Australian College of Training is becoming Australia's prominent meat processing specialist training organisation, delivering core and technical training in all areas of the meat processing industry. The College has enormous capability to deliver targeted technical training in meat processing, employing both industry experts and experienced trades people.

The College is the most active Registered Training Organisation in the meat processing industry in Western Australia, delivering meat processing training from Certificate I right through to the Diploma in Meat Processing.

  • Quality Assurance

There is presently an ongoing shortage of trained quality assurance personnel in the meat processing industry.
