Qualifications

Operator - Level II Food Processing
Level II qualification for people in the stock feed industry are usually offered to new entrants or trainees under existing worker programs progressing into Certificate III existing worker programs

At Certificate II trainees will learn the majority of the skills related to stock feed manufacture, such as grinding, pelleting, extruding, mixing and blending, process control and other task areas related to stock feed operations.

Operator - Level III Food Processing
Level III qualifications are generally for stock feed operators with more than 12 months experience and who have completed Certificate II.

Certificate III is a combination of operator tasks and supervisory, team work and leadership skills. It is an ideal qualification for both experienced operators and new supervisors.

Quality Assurance - Level III Food Processing
Certificate III in Food Processing with units selected to favour quality management, sampling and monitoring and continuous improvement.

Units selected also include statistical process control, sampling and monitoring, HACCP and internal auditing.

Supervisor - Level IV Food Processing
Level IV is an ideal qualification for experienced supervisors or supervisors moving into middle management.

It covers areas such as operations management, leadership, team leading, budgeting, project management and other units of competency. The units within the qualification can be tailor to specific job roles.

Diploma of Food Processing
This qualification is designed for people planning to enter the management level of the food industry or wishing to enter the food industry at a technical or management level.

The College delivers the qualification in a format that enables completing students to move into either operational, technical or management roles within the food industry. More informations.

National Stock Feed Training Program
The Australian College of Training, in conjunction with the Stock Feed Manufacturers' Council of Australia (SFMCA), via a memorandum of understanding, has formed a partnership for the delivery of a National training program. The program has a number of objectives including the following:

  • Develop a Nationally consistent approach to training in the stock feed industry
  • Increased services to the Council's members
  • Flexible and tailored on-site delivery
  • Excellence in collaboration
  • National bench marking

The National SFMCA training program is over-seen by the Council's Training Committee where quarterly meetings are held to facilitate activities such as moderation of assessments, approval of training resources and training delivery personnel.
