For information on bus times and services along Albany Hwy and in Vic Park, please see www.transperth.wa.gov.au Facilities Following is the description of facilities available at AUSTRALIAN COLLEGE OF TRAINING: Lab Area: A general lab is equipped with latest PCs. The lab has an Internet access and Microsoft Office Suite installed for students to work on their assignments and research. Computer Equipment: All other necessary equipment like digital cameras, scanners, B/W and colour printers & photocopiers etc are available to complete assessments (fees may apply). Library: A small reference library is available. ACT provides all essential books required for offered course resources to students. A list of texts and DVD’s are available online and trainers can make these accessible to student through our Resources on Loan procedure. Classrooms: ACT has a theory classroom for conducting face to face teaching, lectures, discussions, role plays, etc. The classroom is equipped with a PC and a Projector for presentations, as well as a small lab area for use by students to access the internet. Prayer Room: ACT has a small prayer room available on site for students who require use of it. Disabled Access: Disabled car park, access ramps and toilet facilities available on site. Student Health and Wellbeing There is a lot of information available for students looking for advice on health and wellbeing. Australian College of Training has a Student Counsellor available for students wanting to talk. A lot of students will experience home sickness in the first few months of study, this is completely normal and there are lots of ways that ACT can offer you support. Some websites that offer anonymous counselling, information and support are also available.
This is a new website for Australian Students covering a broad range of issues relating to student support and welfare.
Go Ask Alice is a site sponsored by the University of Columbia in the US which is aimed at providing anonymous information and advice to students about fitness, nutrition, emotional and general wellbeing. Council for International Students of Western Australia Student trips and events CISWA runs regular trips for national and international students to a range of perth attractions from the Pinnacles to Caversham Park and Penguin and Seal Island. These trips and events are a great way to meet students from a range of schools in the Perth area and see some of the wonderful places that WA has to offer. For more information about these events you can contact student services to be placed on the regular mail out list or see www.ciswa.com Umbrella Bay Festivals Umbrella Bay is a group of international and local students who have come together from a range of Colleges and Universities. The group regularly holds parties, festivals and events for all students aimed at networking and cross cultural exchange. These events are great for those looking to check out the Perth social scene.
